Coastal Forage

A Culinary Adventure Along Jervis Bay’s Stunning Coastline
Embark on a breathtaking 5-6km journey along the pristine Jervis Bay coastline, where nature’s beauty meets culinary excellence. Coastal Forage is a one-of-a-kind event, designed to immerse you in the rich flavours of the Shoalhaven region. Experience a 10-course tasting menu featuring the finest local food, wine, and produce, all while meandering through sandy beaches and picturesque trails.

Over the course of 2-3 hours, you’ll enjoy gourmet offerings at food stations set along the beach, with your toes in the sand and the ocean breeze on your face. This unique event is more than just a lunch—it’s an opportunity to meet the region’s most celebrated chefs, producers, and artisans. Along the way, you’ll also learn about the fascinating flora, fauna, and marine life that call Jervis Bay home.

Starting at Moona Moona Creek Reserve, groups of 20 will depart every 10-15 mins to walk the white sands and sample the flavours of Shoalhaven. You finish at Orions Beach with a boat ride back to your car.

Stargazing Camps

Embark on an out-of-this world space journey and nature immersive campout with Bower Camp Co. and Byron Bay Stargazing.

What if you could access state-of-the-art telescope stargazing equipment, with your people, viewing deep space objects such as galaxies and our fabulous Milky Way, whilst on a camping trip where you’ve had no set up or pack down to do.

We set up the tents with cosy, comfortable beds, soft sheets and thick warm quilts. We cook, we clean, we pack down.

Byron Bay Stargazing provides captivating tours led by Astrophysicist, Dr Dimitri Douchin, including laser-guided constellation storytelling and naked-eye astronomy and navigation tips.

This hands-on, in-person workshops provides professional development to enhance skills and preparedness, equipping outdoor professionals to make informed decisions in the face of increasingly severe and unpredictable weather conditions. Content includes:

Organisational Readiness for Weather Management in the Outdoors (e.g., Climate & weather forecasting in planning & risk assessments; Outdoor & Education Sector Guidelines & Standards; Developing Organisational SOP's & Policies to assess & manage weather risks & events etc.)

Guide to the BoM's Information & Weather Services (delivered by the BoM)

Managing Weather Forecast Information for Outdoor Practitioners (e.g., Understanding the 7 weather forecasting needs for the outdoors; Best information sources & best practice actions for high-risk weather events; Guide to best practice in-field weather monitoring etc.)

The holder of this qualification has demonstrated the ability to manage rescue situations from a craft and gear retrieval in Grade 2 Whitewater. The River Rescue II course is the industry benchmark certification designed to meet the needs of white water paddling Guides and Instructors for the outdoor industry across education, recreational and tourism sectors nationwide. It is also a great source of knowledge for recreational paddlers who want to understand the processes and best practices to keep themselves and others safe while on river.

Capertee Landscape Painting Retreat with Blue Mountains Artist Corinne Loxton

Capertee is an ancient valley west of the Blue Mountains and 70 km north of Lithgow. A dramatic mountain range surrounds the floodplain valley, affording wonderful views of the sandstone rockfaces and ridges.
In 2024, artist Corinne Loxton led a hugely successful retreat in the valley, with 8 participants, both new to painting and experienced. Everyone loved it so much that she's doing it again! Be quick to book as spots will fill up.
The Capertee Painting Retreat is a 4-day plein air (outdoor) painting retreat in which you will develop your skills and confidence painting the landscape, in a relaxed and encouraging environment. We will also take time out to enjoy new friendships, the beautiful surroundings and the experience of disconnecting from everyday life. There will be time to rest, meditate, journal, bushwalk or just curl up with a great book.
As well as the tuition in painting, to develop your technique and assurance painting plein air, Corinne will introduce you to practices she uses to reliably connect with creative flow. The retreat will be based at Oska’s Cottage in Glen Davis. The property has excellent views and easy access to walks and painting locations. Once you arrive, you will have plenty of time for reflection, grounded movement and restoration to ensure you feel re-energised and grounded after the 4 days.

Whitewater Skills Course

Were you inspired by Jess & Naoemi Fox at the Olympics and keen to give whitewater paddling a go?
This course is designed for those paddlers that seek to ensure that they have the knowledge and skills to safely and competently undertake a grade 1-2 whitewater journey without Guide or instructor supervision. A great introduction to whitewater kayaking – beginners very welcome. This course is often a pre-requisite for Adventure races and a Paddle Australia certificate can be issued if needed.
